Thank you!

I wanted to take a moment to thank Professor Puntil-Wilcek.  I had a trying semester personally and the additional understanding and support was immeasurable.  To my colleagues, I want to thank you for your collaboration with the research topic and observation posts throughout the quarter.  It helped to know that I was not the only person struggling with the same issues (with research and also in my work environment).  I started a new job at the beginning of the quarter and quickly learned (through the observations of this class) that teamwork and collaboration was pretty much non-existent.  I am happy to report that I will be working for a well known center starting at the beginning of the year.  I do have to contribute this class to the methods of professionalism I utilized when making my decision to switch my place of employment.  Thank you again for the vast amount of information I gained from the content itself  but also from my peers.  Good luck to everyone in their future studies and I hope you all have a great winter break!

  1. Corey, congratulations on your new job and I hope everything works well with you. In a job you need team work, so that you work together on lesson plans and assessment of children. I have been working for the same company for 14 years. It does have ups and downs but we learn to work through each part of the process. Thank you for your response. Good luck on your classes in the future. Merry Christmas

  2. I also want to thank our professor Puntil-Wilcek. I have learned so much from this class that will be helpful to me in the future. This class has helped me to understand research papers better. You definatly were not the only one struggling with research. I have to say I did not have problems with my work environment but I was a lucky. In many schools and daycares they are too busy to take time to schedule meetings. Our school makes collaboration a team effort every week. The teacher have a meeting once a week with their grade level. The school also has a school wide meeing weekly with all teachers and administration. Congratulations on your new job. I hope you enjoy it! Thank you for sharing this semester. Best of luck in your classes in the future! Merry Christmas

  3. Corey,
Good luck to you in the future. Remember you are not given anything that you can't handle. In teaching every day is challenging, especially today. You have a great desire to think of the box and prove, to our politicians, that it's not all about reading and math but about teaching the child as a whole. Good luck with the rest of your classes and remember keep blogging.
